Job Description

Faith Community Church
Kansas City, Missouri

Job Description: Music Director (Full-Time)

Position Purpose: In collaboration with the Elders, the Music Director will be primarily responsible for
implementing and leading worship services at Faith Community Church as well as actively overseeing all

the qualifications put forward for eldership in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9 as the goal is to call him as
an elder in due time.

 He should therefore desire the office of elder and recognize it as a ‘noble task’ (1 Tim. 3:1). He
should have the heart of a pastor and desire to minister as a shepherd of souls and recognize his
responsibility goes beyond music ministry – to include counseling, teaching, visitation,
hospitality, etc.

 He must be in full agreement with FCC’s Statement of Faith and Confession of Faith. He should
also be able to affirm the following four documents: The Chicago Statement on Biblical
Inerrancy, The Danvers Statement, The Nashville Statement, and The Statement on Social Justice
and the Gospel. A written explanation of any disagreement with our documents or the 4
statements will need to be submitted to the elder board for review.

 He must have the ability to lead congregational worship. The ability to play instruments (piano,
guitar) is helpful but not necessarily required. Experience in leading and developing a team of
musicians is desired.

 Previous ministry experience is necessary.
