Aloma Church, located in Winter Park, Florida, is prayerfully seeking its next Senior Pastor. We are committed to the faithful preaching of God’s Word, discipleship, and the promotion of gospel-centered ministry for the glory of God. Aloma was founded in November 1955 as a church plant of First Baptist Church Winter Park. Aloma has been led by six senior pastors, one of whom served only one year. Aloma Church is in close proximity to the University of Central Florida, one of the nation’s largest public universities. Over 100,000 students attend colleges or universities within 10 miles of Aloma.
Position Overview:
The Senior Pastor will serve as the primary spiritual leader of Aloma Church, overseeing the preaching, teaching, and shepherding ministries of the church. He will guide the congregation in its mission to glorify God through worship, discipleship, evangelism, and community outreach. The Senior Pastor will lead the church in alignment with Scripture, the Baptist Faith and Message (2000), and the church’s statement of faith.
Key Responsibilities:
• Preach and teach the Word of God with clarity, faithfulness, and application to daily life.
• Provide pastoral care, spiritual leadership, and guidance to church members and staff.
• Oversee the church’s ministries, ensuring alignment with the mission and vision of the church.
• Equip and mentor leaders within the church to foster biblical discipleship and servant leadership.
• Shepherd the congregation, providing counseling, encouragement, and guidance in spiritual matters.
• Lead the church in evangelistic efforts, missions, and community outreach.
• Work with church staff and lay leadership to develop and execute strategic plans for ministry growth and effectiveness.
• Ensure the church operates in alignment with biblical principles, maintaining sound doctrine and practices.
Qualifications:
• A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a strong commitment to living a godly life.
• A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited seminary is preferred.
• Affirmation of the Baptist Faith and Message (2000).
• Strong proficiency in expositional preaching.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor, disciple, and equip church members and leaders.
• Experience in strategic planning, program development, and familiarity with church budgets.
